Terms of Use

The rules for using PanelCalc calculators, reports, accounts, and Workspace.

Acceptance and eligibility

By using PanelCalc you agree to these terms. The site is a professional screening reference intended for adults. Electrical design, installation, modification, and troubleshooting must comply with local law and should be performed or supervised by qualified, licensed persons.

Screening tool only — read with the Disclosure

Calculator outputs, reference values, guides, and Workspace reports are provided for informational screening. They are not engineering, design, tax, or legal advice. They are not a code compliance determination, permit, approval, utility bill, contractor quote, or guarantee of savings or performance. You are responsible for verifying nameplate data, metered loads, tariff sheets where applicable, equipment specifications, installer quotes, and the locally adopted code before acting.

Acceptable use

  • Do not misuse the calculators, forms, or accounts: no automated scraping that degrades service, no attempts to bypass access controls or rate limits, and no submission of unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
  • Do not misrepresent calculator outputs as certifications, inspections, code approvals, listings, labels, or utility records.
  • Keep account credentials confidential. Activity under your account is your responsibility until you report compromise through Contact; notify promptly so sessions can be revoked.
  • Do not upload client personal data or credentials into calculators, contact forms, or Workspace notes beyond what the feature requires.

Accounts and Workspace

You may close your account at any time; closing removes your access and queues your Workspace content for deletion under the Privacy Policy retention terms. The site may suspend accounts that abuse the service, bypass controls, or submit unlawful content. Workspace content you create remains yours; you grant the site only the storage and processing rights needed to operate the feature.

Intellectual property

Site content, calculator definitions, datasets (conductor properties, motor tables, standard sizes), and presentation are owned by the site or its licensors and provided for your personal, professional reference use. You may print and share calculator reports for a specific job or client, with the source URL and revision visible. Systematic republication, resale, scraping-for-rehosting, or redistribution of site content without permission is not allowed.

Reports and exports

PDF/CSV exports carry the inputs, outputs, and formula substitution of the moment they were generated. An export is a snapshot, not a living document: if inputs, code editions, or equipment change, regenerate the report rather than editing the file by hand.

Availability and changes

Features, calculator definitions, datasets, baselines, and content may change or be withdrawn as codes, equipment, and evidence evolve. The site is provided on an as-available basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation or error-free results. Do not use the site where doing so would violate applicable law or the terms of a professional engagement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site is not liable for decisions made from calculator outputs or guide content, including costs of equipment, labor, permits, rework, inspections, downtime, or lost savings. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the site is to stop using it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Governing outlook and contact

Questions about these terms, error reports, and takedown requests go through the Contact page with the URL and the specific clause or number at issue. Contact the site.
