Privacy Policy

How PanelCalc handles calculator inputs, accounts, Workspace content, cookies, and your rights.

Summary

PanelCalc runs screening calculators on values you type into the page. The site does not sell personal information, does not run advertising or cross-site trackers, and does not publish your saved work. Account holders get Workspace features that store their own assumptions and reports; everything else stays operational minimum.

Who operates this site

PanelCalc (panelcalculators.com) is the data controller for information processed through this website. Contact the site administrator through the Contact page for any privacy question, request, or complaint. Contact the site.

Information you provide directly

  • Contact messages: name, email address, and message content. Used only to respond and to track the reported issue. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a correct reference site; consent where you volunteer the message.
  • Account registration: email address and password credentials (stored hashed, never in plain text). Used for sign-in, verification, and password recovery. Legal basis: performance of the account contract you request.
  • Workspace content: saved assumptions, notes, and reports you choose to store. This content belongs to you, is visible only to your account, and is never published or shared. Legal basis: performance of the Workspace service.
  • What not to send: account passwords, client personal data, or payment details. The site has no use for them and support cannot protect what it should never receive.

Calculator inputs: what happens to your numbers

Calculator inputs are processed in your browser and on the server only to produce the requested result. They are not linked to your identity, not used for profiling, and not sold — unless you explicitly press save, in which case a copy becomes Workspace content under your account. Anonymous inputs are not retained as records.

Information processed automatically

  • Server and security logs: request time, requested page, and coarse error diagnostics for security monitoring and troubleshooting. Kept on a short rotation and never used for marketing.
  • Strictly necessary cookies only: sign-in sessions, security tokens (including MFA and password-reset flows), and basic display preferences. No advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies are set by the site itself.
  • If analytics, advertising, or embedded third-party content is ever added, this policy will be updated first to name each provider, describe its cookies and data, and explain opt-out — before it goes live.

How information is used and shared

Information is used to operate the calculators, respond to contact requests, maintain accounts, prevent abuse, and improve reliability. It is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing. Disclosure happens only where required by law (for example, a valid legal order) or strictly necessary to provide the requested service — such as hosting infrastructure that stores data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations. Subprocessors, if any, are limited to infrastructure hosting and transactional email.

International transfers

The server is hosted in one jurisdiction; visitors may be anywhere. Where personal data crosses borders, it travels only as far as needed to serve the page or the account, under the same confidentiality obligations described above.

Retention

  • Contact messages: retained while the reported issue is open and for a reasonable period afterward for quality records, then deleted.
  • Account and Workspace data: persists until you delete the content or close the account. Deleting Workspace content removes it from the live database; backups age out on rotation.
  • Security logs: rotate on a short cycle and are kept only as long as needed for security and diagnostics.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR/UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA rights of access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection or opt-out), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may close your account at any time, subject to record-keeping required by law. Workspace content can be deleted by you directly at any time. To exercise any right, use the Contact page and state which right and which account email. Contact the site.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed; sessions and reset tokens expire; administrative access follows least privilege. No method is perfect, so keep credentials unique to this site and report suspected compromise immediately through Contact.

Children

The site is a professional reference intended for adults and supervised apprentices. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher age threshold where you live), and accounts for children are not permitted. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact the site for deletion.

Changes to this policy

Material changes will be reflected in the revision date below and, for account holders, announced in a way that reaches them before the change takes effect. Continued use of the site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
